PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pena Hirmu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emperor Vader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hirmu comes into the arena with AC/DC - War Machine blaring out of the sound system. Vader has chosen Heresy by Pantera as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hirmu connects with a body shot that sends Vader's belly button to the back.
Hirmu throws out a loose jab but Vader uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hirmu misses the shot to the body.
Vader throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Vader lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Hirmu ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Vader will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Vader counters with a nice leg kick.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hirmu. Vader does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Hirmu counters with a lovely shot to the body.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Vader throws a right and a left that Hirmu avoids nicely.
Vader throws a right hand that Hirmu ducks under and follows up with a left that Hirmu also avoids with ease.
Vader will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Vader misses with a double jab
and Hirmu counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Vader uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hirmu.
Vader displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hirmu.
Vader goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Vader throws a chopping leg kick but Hirmu manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Vader stalks Hirmu and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hirmu's face. Hirmu staggers backwards, shaken.
Hirmu takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Hirmu scores with a crisp jab that stopped Vader in his tracks.
Hirmu connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

and Hirmu counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Vader!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Emperor Vader will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Vader attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Vader throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Hirmu.
Vader tries to bum rush Hirmu with a series of wild strikes but Hirmu uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Vader throws a right hand that Hirmu ducks under and follows up with a left that Hirmu also avoids with ease.

Vader looks to land a right hand but Hirmu moved out of range.
Hirmu is looking to wear down Vader with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Vader throws a combination. Hirmu tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hirmu misses the jab.
Vader misses with a kick to the body
and Hirmu counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Vader throws a head kick that misses.
Vader looks to score with a jab to the body but Hirmu is just out of range.

Emperor Vader showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Hirmu's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Hirmu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vader manages to avoid it.
Vader throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Pena Hirmu has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Emperor Vader seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vader bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Vader throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hirmu dives in and grabs Vader's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vader pushes down on Hirmu's head and hops out.

Vader lands with a hook. Hirmu tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Vader feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Hirmu's calf.

I would just about give that final round to Emperor Vader.
