Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Travis Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rafael de Jesus !

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Brown. Those never looked like landing.
A bone on bone clash there as de Jesus blocks the leg kick.
Brown looks for the body kick but de Jesus saw that one coming.
Brown shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. de Jesus eats them both and turns towards Brown to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
de Jesus takes one to the side of the head.
de Jesus moves out of range of the body kick.
Brown connects with a body shot.
Brown displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.


It looks like Rafael de Jesus has been cut.
de Jesus doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
A combination from Brown does no damage.
de Jesus takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
de Jesus misses with a hook
and Brown counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

de Jesus drives through with a takedown into guard.
de Jesus throwing strikes from guard but Brown blocks nicely.

de Jesus drops back, looking for a kneebar! Brown looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Brown looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Brown!
Brown moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
de Jesus is trying to control Brown's posture but Brown avoids it.

Brown working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
de Jesus is looking for a sweep.
de Jesus is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Brown is looking to take a break and control but de Jesus is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Brown working the ground and pound from side control.
Brown wants to control but de Jesus is keeping him busy.

Brown working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
de Jesus tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Brown wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Brown looks up at the clock and then as de Jesus takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Brown smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

de Jesus is looking to regain half guard here but Brown keeps moving and retains side control.

Brown decides to stand back up.

de Jesus swings widly with a right hand
and de Jesus takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Brown lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Brown swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Brown scores with a shot to the body.
An inside leg kick lands from Brown.

de Jesus throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Brown tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. de Jesus is in Brown's guard.
de Jesus looks gassed!

de Jesus postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Brown is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of de Jesus , into his guard.

Brown trying to control but de Jesus is working from the bottom.
Brown is really struggling to control de Jesus but he's trying to hold on to the position.

de Jesus is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Brown defends well.

Brown got a little sloppy there for a moment and de Jesus has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Brown has managed to get both his arms back between de Jesus 's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Brown controls from within his opponent's guard.
Brown trying to control the position from guard on top but de Jesus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

de Jesus on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
de Jesus blocks the body kick.
Brown walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. de Jesus checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Brown lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but de Jesus circles away quickly and effectively.

Brown closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Brown lands in his opponent's guard.
Brown trying to control but de Jesus is working from the bottom.
Brown has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Brown thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Brown has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of de Jesus is proving hard to escape from.

de Jesus had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Brown defends it easily.
de Jesus is breathing heavily.
de Jesus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Brown slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Travis Brown just wasn't active enough.
Brown throws a head kick but de Jesus moves out of range.

Brown changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. de Jesus looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Brown has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Brown tries to work over de Jesus 's front leg with a kick but de Jesus checks it.
Nice uppercut lands for Brown. That snapped de Jesus 's head back.
Brown goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Brown is looking to land body kicks.
Brown is looking to wear down de Jesus with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Brown throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Brown throws a combination. de Jesus tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Brown throws a right and a left that both miss.
de Jesus blocks the body kick.
de Jesus takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Brown scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Brown lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Brown moves in looking to clinch but de Jesus pushes him off.

Brown tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but de Jesus paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Donk. Brown catches de Jesus right on the button with a cross.
Brown throws a right and a left that de Jesus avoids nicely.
Brown scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Brown thuds his shin into the meat of de Jesus 's side.
Brown lands with an overhand left.
de Jesus rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Brown counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps de Jesus thinking.

Travis Brown is winning the standup battle so far.
Brown connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
de Jesus takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
de Jesus blocks the body kick.

de Jesus is rocked!
Brown lands a brutal uppercut that launches de Jesus off his feet! de Jesus tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
