The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Falco swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Orakpo throws a jab but it's blocked by Falco.
Falco throws a lazy body kick
and Orakpo counters with a stiff right hand.
Falco lands with a nice body kick.
Falco moves into range and connects with a jab.

It looks like Brian Orakpo has been cut.

Rocco Falco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Falco tries to land a front kick but Orakpo steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Falco leaves Orakpo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Orakpo misses with a looping right.
Falco uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Orakpo.

Falco closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Orakpo's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Falco accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Falco bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Orakpo's head backwards.

Orakpo takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Falco throws a low kick but it's checked well by Orakpo.

Falco throws a nice looking combination but Orakpo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Falco jabs Orakpo to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Falco shoots in for a double leg but Orakpo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
