Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Scott Pilgrim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Jackson's choice of entrance music: Remember the name. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Pilgrim !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tim Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Jackson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Pilgrim regains guard immediately.
Jackson trying to control the position from guard on top but Pilgrim is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Pilgrim is looking for a triangle here but Jackson uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Pilgrim is trying to get back to half guard.
Pilgrim is working hard here to advance position.

Jackson works to advance to full mount. Pilgrim defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Jackson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Pilgrim is trying desperately to improve position.

Jackson stands up from mount. Strange move.

Pilgrim clinches.
Jackson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pilgrim has him pressed against the cage.

Pilgrim manages to pull guard.

Pilgrim knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jackson on the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Jackson drops back looking for a leg! Pilgrim is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pilgrim manages to kick Jackson off! Jackson jumps back into Pilgrim 's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pilgrim looking for a sweep. Not yet Pilgrim , not yet.

Jackson stands up and waves to Pilgrim to follow him.

Jackson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Pilgrim 's guard.
Jackson looks gassed!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tim Jackson was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Pilgrim throws a head kick that misses

and Jackson counters by moving into the clinch.

Pilgrim escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Pilgrim had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jackson defends it easily.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Jackson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Jackson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pilgrim sprawls well. Pilgrim wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet.
Jackson wants to clinch.
Pilgrim throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Jackson is breathing heavily.
Pilgrim avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Pilgrim fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jackson, pushing him back against the cage.

Pilgrim 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Pilgrim comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Tim Jackson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Pilgrim .
Pilgrim wants to clinch up but Jackson keeps it at a distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Jackson gets underhooks to prevent Pilgrim 's takedown attempt.

Pilgrim pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jackson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Pilgrim counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Pilgrim misses the shot to the body.
Pilgrim throws a sloppy head kick
and Jackson counters with a left and a right that stings Pilgrim .

Pilgrim getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Pilgrim fails with an attempt to clinch.
Pilgrim thows a body shot but no joy.

Pilgrim gets a clinch.
Jackson is trying to break the clinch but Pilgrim has him pressed against the cage.
Pilgrim can't get the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Pilgrim . That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pilgrim has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jackson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Pilgrim wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Pilgrim tries to stall but Jackson uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Pilgrim drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jackson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Tim Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pilgrim gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Jackson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Jackson content to control rather than advance.

Jackson is working for a submission of some sort.
Jackson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pilgrim does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Pilgrim is not content to let Jackson control the position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Jackson gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Pilgrim is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jackson.
Pilgrim dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Pilgrim tries to clinch there but Jackson circles away.
Pilgrim tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jackson swivels and escapes.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Pilgrim .
Tim Jackson has got the better of the ground game so far.
An elbow from Pilgrim crashes against the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scott Pilgrim dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Pilgrim moves into range and clinches up with Jackson.

Jackson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Pilgrim can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Jackson stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Pilgrim working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jackson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jackson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
