The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adonis wants to clinch.
Batista stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Adonis.

Adonis gets a takedown into half guard.
Adonis is trying to control the action in half guard but Batista is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Adonis missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Batista tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Adonis has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Adonis with shots to the head and body - Batista looks very uncomfortable down there.

Adonis has control of Batista's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Batista regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Batista knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Adonis on the ground.
Batista wants to control but Adonis is having none of it.

Adonis wants to finish this one by submission but Batista is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Adonis.
Adonis tries to control but Batista wriggling away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Adonis avoids the attempt from Batista to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Adonis is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Adonis tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Adonis scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Batista has his takedown stuffed
and Adonis counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Adonis throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Batista tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Adonis is in Batista's guard.
Adonis wants to get up but he can't break Batista's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Adonis working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Batista's head.
Batista looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Adonis works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Adonis is trying to control. Batista wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Adonis maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Batista could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Adonis has cracked it and Batista is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Adonis!
