Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Hinton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ed Gein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hinton comes to the cage accompanied by Death to All. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ed Gein!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hinton lands a head shot.
Gein lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Hinton backs up against the cage.
Gein swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gein misses with a right hand

and Hinton counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Hinton wants to control from the top but Gein keeps moving.
Gein is looking to stand up but Hinton isn't so interested in that idea.
Hinton's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Hinton trying to control the position from guard on top but Gein is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Gein is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Hinton wants to control from the top but Gein keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Scott Hinton just wasn't active enough.
The fighters circle momentarily. Hinton darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Gein misses with a wild body shot.
Gein rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hinton counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Hinton throws a lazy right hand but Gein sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Hinton throws a strike there. Gein manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gein throws a nice looking combination but Hinton bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

enabling Hinton to counter with a crisp jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Hinton counters with a right hand to the body.
Gein's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hinton connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Gein scrambles back to his feet.

A looping hook to the body misses from Hinton. Gein does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hinton throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gein misses with a lunging right hand
and Hinton counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Hinton throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gein stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Gein gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hinton to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hinton seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Gein seems to have recovered his senses.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Scott Hinton.
Gein's corner calls for a 1-2. Gein obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Hinton fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
