Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dj Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lae Praye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Praye is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Carry That Weight. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Praye misses with a right hand
and Penn counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Praye shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Penn counters with a straight right hand.
Nice takedown defense from Penn. No joy for Praye on that attempt.
Praye lands a really nice looking cross but Penn seems unphased.

Praye shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Penn's guard.

Lae Praye seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Penn is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Penn scores with the left hand. Praye knows he should have avoided that one.

and Penn counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Penn gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Praye shoots in and bounces Penn off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Praye drops back, looking for a kneebar! Penn looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Penn looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Penn!

Praye tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Penn wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
