Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aang Havatar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ping Pong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pong has chosen enae Volare Mezzo as his entrance music. Aang Havatar has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pong gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Pong takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Pong gets caught flat footed, as Havatar shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Havatar seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Havatar's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Pong doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Havatar counters with a single leg into guard. Pong didn't expect that.

Pong had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Havatar defends it easily.
Havatar sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pong's guard.

Havatar is taking a breather. Pong says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Havatar seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pong for as long as he can get away with.
