The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Man closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Man throws an elbow but Jemall slips to the side and avoids it well.
Man tries to score with some ground and pound. Jemall controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
You can see the frustration on Jemall's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Man connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Jemall some visible discomfort.

Jemall has hold of Man's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Man manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Jemall jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Man manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Jemall has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Man doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Jemall counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jemall.

Mazaman Man's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Mazaman Man's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
