The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veechi stuffs the takedown.

Zimmermann shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Zimmermann was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Veechi is trying to escape the mount.
Zimmermann will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Veechi wants to hold on but Zimmermann pushes him away.
Veechi is looking to get to half guard.

Zimmermann swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Veechi is now in Zimmermann's guard. A big mistake from Zimmermann there, giving up the dominant position!

Veechi tries to pass the half guard into mount. Zimmermann knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Veechi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Zimmermann defends it well.

Veechi is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Zimmermann has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Veechi is working away from the top position though.

Veechi wants to work for an arm triangle but Zimmermann is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Zimmermann is looking for a sweep. Veechi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Veechi trying to control the action but Zimmermann is working from the bottom.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Veechi is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Zimmermann!
Zimmermann is breathing heavily.

Veechi is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Zimmermann can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Veechi throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Veechi looking to control but Zimmermann is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Zimmermann is wriggling around trying to escape.
Veechi throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Zimmermann because Veechi loaded up on that one.

Veechi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Zimmermann is looking to escape.
Veechi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Veechi takes Zimmermann's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Zimmermann is in trouble.
Veechi scores with punches and elbows.
Veechi punches the canvas rather than the man.

Veechi has got one arm under Zimmermann's chin. This could be trouble... Zimmermann trying to control the other hand but Veechi gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Zimmermann has tapped out! The fight is over!
