Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Russo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Swick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ryan Russo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Swick!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swick shoots for a double leg takedown but Russo sprawls well. He's pushed Swick's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Swick throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Russo's waist but Russo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Swick off to one side.
A nice inside leg kick there by Russo. That's going to slow Swick down.
Swick shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Russo counters with a stiff right hand.
Ryan Russo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Swick.
A head kick misses from Russo.

Swick fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Swick clinches up against the cage.
Knees in the clinch landing for Russo.
Swick takes a knee right on the jaw!
Swick tries for a takedown but Russo manages to get underhooks.

Russo comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


It looks like Chris Swick has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Swick drops down looking for an ankle pick but Russo pulls his leg out and moves away.
Russo attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Swick shoots for a double leg takedown but Russo sprawls well. He's pushed Swick's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Swick tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Russo swivels and escapes.
Swick looks gassed!
Swick misses with a kick to the body
and Russo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ryan Russo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Swick shoots in for a double leg but Russo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Swick shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Russo but Russo pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Russo darts in and clinches Swick up against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Russo lands an elbow inside.
Russo lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Swick tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
A knee to the head by Russo.
Russo lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Russo unloads a knee to the mid-section. Swick lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Swick takes a knee right on the jaw!

That has opened up Chris Swick's cut even more.
Russo lands an elbow inside.
Russo connects with a nasty looking knee right to Swick's face.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Russo obliges.
Russo's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Russo lands a knee to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Russo is pushing Swick up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Russo lands an elbow that stopped Swick in his tracks for a moment.
Swick takes an elbow to the forehead.
Swick changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Russo fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Russo lands a glancing blow to the side of Swick's head.


The cut above Chris Swick's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Russo clinches.
Swick tries to pull guard but Russo holds him up against the cage and eventually Swick drops back down to his feet.
Russo lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Swick is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Swick jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Russo walks away with a smile on his face. Swick gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Russo lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Russo misses with a head kick.
No luck for Swick with that takedown attempt.
Swick keeps the fight on the outside.
Chris Swick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Russo gets tackled into the cage by Swick. Swick maintains the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Swick takes an elbow to the forehead.
Swick tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Russo smiles and moves away.

Swick feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Russo dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Chris Swick's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Russo instigates a clinch.
Swick fails to pull guard.
Swick wants to get back to striking at distance but Russo won't allow it.
Russo lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Russo landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Swick tries to throw a body punch but Russo avoids it by throwing Swick back against the cage.
Swick wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Russo lands a damaging elbow.
A knee to the head by Russo.


Chris Swick's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Swick working hard to break the clinch.
Swick wants a takedown.
Russo lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Swick is breathing heavily.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Russo creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Swick's defenses.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Chris Swick's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Ryan Russo!
