PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Erik Weiss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guillaume Leblanc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Weiss comes to the cage accompanied by Through the Fire and Flames. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Guillaume Leblanc!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Leblanc looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Leblanc tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Leblanc thows a body shot but no joy.
Weiss lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Weiss clinches up against the cage.

Leblanc's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Weiss is trying to force a seperation but Leblanc has the dominant position.

Weiss swats away the attempt to clinch by Leblanc.
Leblanc tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Weiss manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Weiss lands with an uppercut that bounces Leblanc off the cage and back into rage.
Leblanc lands with a nice combination. Weiss backs away looking to recover.

Weiss takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Leblanc darts in and clinches Weiss up against the cage.

Weiss manages to break the clinch.
Leblanc ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Leblanc wants to clinch up but Weiss keeps it at a distance.
Leblanc doesn't manage to clinch there - Weiss circles away.
Leblanc thows a body kick. Weiss tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Sloppy strikes from Leblanc. Those never looked like landing.
Leblanc throws a nice looking combination but Weiss bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Leblanc will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Leblanc is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Weiss rather than just go for the knockout.
Weiss lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Leblanc circles away quickly and effectively.

Weiss swats away the attempt to clinch by Leblanc.
Leblanc throws a good cross that connects.

and Leblanc counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Leblanc.
Leblanc has Weiss pressed against the cage, preventing Weiss from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Weiss breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Leblanc scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Weiss doesn't seem bothered though.

Weiss has had enough of the clinch but Leblanc keeps him there for the moment.

Weiss misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Leblanc tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Leblanc breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Leblanc cracks Weiss with a right hand to the side of the head.
Weiss tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Leblanc counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Leblanc looks at the referee who does nothing so Leblanc lands a crushing right that sends Weiss to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Guillaume Leblanc!
