The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Garcia moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Nice combo by Jackson! Oh, that's hurt him - Garcia falls to the canvas and Jackson follows him into side control.

It looks like Hector Garcia has been cut.

Jackson decides to stand back up.
Garcia throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jackson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Garcia thinking.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jackson is looking for a sweep. Garcia is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Garcia uses his free foot to push down on Jackson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jackson.

Garcia stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jackson is working for a kimura but Garcia is defending it quite comfortably.

Jackson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Garcia is just riding it out for now. Jackson eventually gives up the hold.
Jackson is stalling here. Garcia is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Jackson seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Garcia has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Garcia tries to bum rush Jackson with a series of wild strikes but Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Garcia counters with a three punch combo that has Jackson backing up. Jackson nods at Garcia to acknowledge the strikes.
Jackson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Garcia's waist but Garcia gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jackson off to one side.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
