Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gene Carano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dew Rain!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Dean Styles and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carano throws a series of punches but Rain moves out of range.
Rain swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Carano doesn't manage to clinch there - Rain circles away.
Rain scores with a takedown into Carano's guard.
Carano trying to keep a closed guard but Rain is proving a slippery customer.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rain's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Rain working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Rain drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rain jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Rain passes Carano's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rain connects with a nice short shot to Carano's temple.
Rain is nestled in close to Carano, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Rain is trying for a kimura here. Carano looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Rain wins by kimura!
