Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Danielos Amigos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lukasz Van Der Klaas!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Der Klaas avoids the body shot from Amigos.

Van Der Klaas gets tackled into the cage by Amigos. Amigos maintains the clinch.

Amigos wants the takedown. Van Der Klaas is fighting it off but Amigos persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Van Der Klaas's guard against the cage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Van Der Klaas can do anything to dispel that myth.
Van Der Klaas has control of Amigos's left arm, preventing Amigos from doing any damage.
Amigos wants to get up but he can't break Van Der Klaas's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Amigos is breathing heavily.
Van Der Klaas pulls Amigos in to control the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Amigos has closed the distance and engaged Van Der Klaas in a clinch.

Amigos trying to stall but Van Der Klaas improves his position.
Amigos swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Van Der Klaas has picked Amigos up - he's going for a ride! Van Der Klaas dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Van Der Klaas is thwarting Amigos's attempts to control the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Well, if Van Der Klaas is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Lukasz Van Der Klaas.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Lukasz Van Der Klaas wasn't active enough on the ground.

Van Der Klaas shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Amigos napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Van Der Klaas is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Amigos will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Let's hope that Van Der Klaas has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Van Der Klaas closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Amigos quickly recovers to half guard.
Van Der Klaas perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Lukasz Van Der Klaas hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Amigos shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Van Der Klaas's guard.
Van Der Klaas has Amigos pulled in close to control his posture.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Van Der Klaas manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Lukasz Van Der Klaas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Van Der Klaas feints and as Amigos raises his hands in defense, Van Der Klaas changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Van Der Klaas is stalling in the full guard.
Amigos wants to control but Van Der Klaas passes easily into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Lukasz Van Der Klaas hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Lukasz Van Der Klaas wasn't active enough on the ground.
