Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tyrell Summers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Summers's entrance music is Last Chance by Shooting Star. A fine choice. Lee is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Teaching You. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Anthony Taglia and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Summers counters with a right hand to the body.
Lee misses with a wild combination.
Lee defending well as Summers loads up on a big left hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lee avoids the body shot from Summers.
Lee misses with an uppercut
letting Summers counter with a right hand.

and Summers cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Summers shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Lee counters with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Tyrell Summers has been cut.
Brandon Lee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Lee takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Summers ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lee moves away.

Lee throws a poor cross that misses
and Summers counters with a two punch combo.

Tyrell Summers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Summers gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Lee blocking some punches.
Summers changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lee fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Summers doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Lee connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Lee counters with a crisp one two that drops Summers! Lee thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Summers to his feet! Summers is in big trouble!

Lee tries to work over Summers's front leg with a kick but Summers checks it.

Summers rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Lee counters with a right hand to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lee has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Summers.
Summers tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lee swivels and escapes.
Summers checks the leg kick.
Summers scores with a punch to the head.

Lee is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Summers falls off balance throwing a combination
and Lee counters with a low kick, right behind Summers 's knee.
Lee swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Summers connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Donk. Summers catches Lee right on the button with a cross.

Lee throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lee displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Summers throws out the jab.
Some wild striking there from Lee.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Summers swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Lee counters with a nice uppercut.

Brandon Lee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Summers is controlling the pace.
Summers tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lee knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Summers scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Lee won't allow Summers to pass to mount.
Lee is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Summers content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Summers is looking to take a break and control but Lee is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lee is controlling Summers's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Lee is not content to let Summers control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Tyrell Summers just wasn't active enough.
Summers takes one to the chin there.
Tyrell Summers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

and Summers makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Summers misses with a wild body shot.
Lee misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Summers counters with an inside leg kick.
Lee uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Summers.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tyrell Summers.
I think Lee has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
