Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rolf Thorkildsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Jericho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Thorkildsen might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to AC/DC - Hell's Bells. Jericho has chosen Pyhimys - 0 as his entrance music. Rolf Thorkildsen could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ricky Jericho's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rolf Thorkildsen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ricky Jericho!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thorkildsen swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Jericho counters with a left to the body.
Jericho fails with a takedown attempt.
Jericho moves away from the strike by Thorkildsen.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Jericho makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

and Jericho counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Thorkildsen thinking.

Thorkildsen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jericho is pushing down on Thorkildsen's leg trying to pass to half guard. Thorkildsen is fighting to maintain full guard but Jericho has managed to sneak the leg through.

Thorkildsen creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Jericho sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rolf Thorkildsen.
Well Jericho has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
