Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Doze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doze comes to the ring accompanied by "Don't Trust Me" by 3Oh!3. Maia is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Stranglehold-Ted Nugent. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia tries for a takedown but Doze sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Doze has closed the distance and engaged Maia in a clinch.
Doze lands an elbow inside that Maia shrugs off.

It looks like David Maia has been cut.
Doze lands a nice knee to the body.

Doze gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Doze wants to stand but Maia has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Doze knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Maia on the ground.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Doze fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Maia sprawls well initially but Doze persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Maia looks gassed!
Maia tries to get to full guard but Doze has control of the leg.
Doze trying to control the action but Maia is working from the bottom.
Doze uses his free foot to push down on Maia's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Maia.
Maia is looking to get to half guard.
Doze can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Maia is looking to escape.

Doze jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Maia manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Maia regains half guard there - taking advantage of Doze's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Doze wants to stand up but Maia has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Doze - that will leave a mark!
Maia chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Doze can pounce on him.

Doze feints and as Maia raises his hands in defense, Doze changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Maia avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Doze has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Maia is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Maia is pressing down on Doze's thigh, looking to free his foot. Doze is holding on for now.

Maia is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Doze is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
