Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raman Singh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Guster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Phil Guster!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guster misses with a takedown

and Singh counters with a shoot takedown. Guster fights it but they end up in guard.
Guster is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Singh is controlling him.

Guster really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Singh. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Singh feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

and Singh counters with a nice double leg into side control. Guster won't be happy with that.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Singh cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Guster can do anything to dispel that myth.

Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Singh.

Singh is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Singh gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Singh gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Singh apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Singh has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Singh is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Guster to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Guster shrugs it off.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Singh here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Raman Singh overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
