PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sean Jitsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tatsuya Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kimura is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Inner Light by Shocking Lemon. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sean Jitsu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Tatsuya Kimura!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Hirohito Nitta and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimura tries to clinch but Jitsu moves out of range.
Kimura fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jitsu has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Kimura displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jitsu throws out the jab.
Jitsu is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Jitsu chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kimura can pounce on him.
Kimura misses with a leg kick.
Kimura throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Kimura thuds his shin into the meat of Jitsu's side.
Jitsu blocks the body kick.

Jitsu misses with a takedown
and Kimura counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Jitsu throws a right hand that misses
and Kimura counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jitsu thinking.
Jitsu throws an off balance right hand
and Kimura counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Tatsuya Kimura is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kimura misses with a low kick.
Kimura has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jitsu finds it's way round the side to connect with Kimura's head.
Kimura connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Kimura!
Kimura tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jitsu shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kimura sprawls well. Kimura wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jitsu gets slowly back to his feet.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Jitsu checks a leg kick.
Tatsuya Kimura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kimura delivers a nice body kick.
Kimura fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jitsu has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Nice defenses there by Kimura.

and Jitsu counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kimura tries to clinch there but Jitsu circles away.
Jitsu misses with a takedown attempt
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Kimura dips to his left and cracks Jitsu with an uppercut!

Kimura wants to land a leg kick but Jitsu is out of range.

Kimura lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Kimura throws a low kick but it's checked well by Jitsu.
Jitsu swats away the attempt to clinch by Kimura.

Kimura tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jitsu swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
A nice inside leg kick there by Kimura. That's going to slow Jitsu down.
Jitsu shoots in for a double leg but Kimura sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jitsu misses with an uppercut
and Kimura counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Jitsu shoots in for a takedown but Kimura shows good takedown defense.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kimura throws a nice inside leg kick.
Kimura throws a leg kick that misses.
Jitsu lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Kimura lands a leg kick that knocks Jitsu off balance momentarily.
Jitsu slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Jitsu scores a takedown into full mount!
Kimura is looking to get to half guard.
Jitsu thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Kimura is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Jitsu looking to land elbow strikes but Kimura uses the position to regain half guard.

Kimura is refusing to be controlled, as Jitsu sits in half guard.
Jitsu winds up and cracks Kimura with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Jitsu looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Jitsu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kimura is trying to control but can't.

Jitsu thows a huge punch but Kimura dodges it nicely.
Kimura is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kimura is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Jitsu wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kimura keeps working.
Kimura really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jitsu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tatsuya Kimura will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Jitsu fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kimura misses with a low kick.

Jitsu closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kimura did well to prevent Jitsu getting side control.
Jitsu is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kimura!
Jitsu can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kimura is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee warns Kimura that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Jitsu is landing with some decent strikes but Kimura is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Kimura tries to hold on but Jitsu pushes him away.

Jitsu has control of Kimura's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kimura regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Kimura wants to control but Jitsu is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jitsu moves into full mount! Kimura won't be happy about that!
Kimura is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Kimura wants to hold on but Jitsu pushes him away.
Kimura avoids a series of strikes thrown by Jitsu.

Jitsu is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kimura to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kimura shrugs it off.

Jitsu jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Kimura is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Kimura and Jitsu has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Kimura is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Jitsu's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Sean Jitsu showed his dominance in that final round.
I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
