Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeMille bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Kagawa throws a looping overhand right but DeMille ducks down to avoid it.
DeMille misses with a lunging right hand
and Kagawa counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
DeMille tries to clinch but Kagawa is having none of it.
DeMille avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kagawa misses with the combination.
Kagawa looks to throw the jab but DeMille is out of range.
Kagawa misses with a few strikes there.

Kagawa tries to sprawl but DeMille drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Kagawa wants to improve his position but DeMille is controlling well.

Kagawa avoiding damage under a succession of punches from DeMille.
Kagawa tries to roll over but DeMille keeps him under control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
DeMille throws a head kick but Kagawa moves out of range.
A nice leg kick lands there from DeMille.

and DeMille counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! DeMille looks at the referee who does nothing so DeMille lands a crushing right that sends Kagawa to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.
