The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bays shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bays was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Blackboots sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Bays prevents Blackboots from improving his position.
Bays is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Blackboots!
Bays is working for a guillotine from mount but Blackboots frees his head quite easily.
Bays prevents Blackboots from getting the reversal.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bays has hold of Blackboots's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Blackboots manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Bays is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Blackboots is defending well though. Bays let's go of the attempt for now.
Bays looking to break Blackboots's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Blackboots remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Bays will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Bays is trying to stick to Blackboots's back but Blackboots is turning into Bays. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Bays's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Blackboots.
Bays had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Blackboots is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Bays Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Blackboots's back instead.

Bays doesn't have the hooks in and Blackboots manages to turn into his guard.

Bays escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Blackboots gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Blackboots has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Bays to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Blackboots is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Bays pulls down on the head and he's put Blackboots to sleep! This one is all over!
