Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Royce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinny Vegas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie comes to the ring accompanied by Heart of a Champion. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Royce Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Vinny Vegas!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vegas tries a head kick but it misses.
Gracie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Vegas connects with a solid leg kick.
Vegas throws a head kick that half lands.
Gracie throws an off balance right hand
and Vegas counters with a nice uppercut.
Vegas scores with a nice right hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vegas misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Vegas lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Vegas connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gracie's hands.
Vegas fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Gracie has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Vegas misses with a left hand

and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Vegas won't be happy with that.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vegas is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Gracie is controlling him well.

Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vegas, who protects the arm well.

Gracie tries for a kimura but Vegas is defending well.

Gracie working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Gracie advances nicely into full mount.

Gracie lands a nice shot to the head.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gracie cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Gracie lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Vegas hang on?
Vegas is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Gracie jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Vegas manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vegas keeps working.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gracie lands an elbow.

Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Gracie staying calm.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Vegas parries the strikes from Gracie easily there. Gracie is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Vegas to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Royce Gracie dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Vegas keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gracie.
Gracie steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Vegas.
A telegraphed right hand from Vegas misses the target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie misses with a hook to the body
enabling Vegas to counter with a crisp jab.
Gracie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Vegas counters with a nice low kick that buckles Gracie's knee momentarily.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vegas's corner calls for a 1-2. Vegas obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Vegas jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Gracie misses with an uppercut
and Vegas counters with a leg kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Vegas throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Gracie's head.
Vegas connects with a right hand. Gracie shakes it off.
Vegas throws a right and a left that Gracie avoids nicely.
Vegas paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fight stays on the outside here - Vegas looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Vegas misses with a hook to the body
and Gracie counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vegas but Vegas pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Vinny Vegas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Vegas throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Vegas plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Vegas scores with a head kick. Gracie tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Vegas is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gracie.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Vegas falls off balance throwing a combination
and Gracie counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Vinny Vegas will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Vegas tries to clinch there but Gracie circles away.
Gracie tries for a takedown but Vegas circles away easily
and Vegas counters with an outside leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vegas misses with a looping left.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Vegas lands a jab.
Vegas catches Gracie with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gracie uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vegas.
Vegas thows a body shot but no joy.
Vegas throws a sloppy head kick and Gracie moves out of range easily.

Vegas forces Gracie back against the ropes and clinches.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A shot in the inside from Vegas.
Gracie's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Gracie is looking to break free of the clinch but Vegas has double underhooks.
Vegas tries to stall but Gracie uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Gracie tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Vegas just stands there and leans against the ropes.
Gracie tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Vegas smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Royce Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A big left from Vegas misses.
Gracie shoots for a takedown but Vegas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Vegas cracks Gracie with a right hand to the side of the head.
Gracie avoids the head kick by Vegas.

Vegas gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Vegas blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Gracie blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Vegas lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Gracie.

Gracie ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gracie no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Vinny Vegas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Vegas has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
