Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jake Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Warren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Shields might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Take your shirt off. Warren has chosen London Calling - The Clash as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Jake Shields! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 2, fighting out of London, Frank Warren! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Atkins and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shields tries for a takedown but Warren circles away easily enabling Warren to counter with a crisp jab. Shields with a lazy takedown attempt and Shields takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Shields shoots and misses and Warren counters with a straight right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Shields. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shields shoots in but doesn't get the takedown enabling Warren to counter with a crisp jab. Shields gets the takedown into side control. Shields goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Warren rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Shields's guard! Nice work there by Warren! Shields working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Warren doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Warren manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Warren passes into half guard. Shields wants to get back to full guard. Warren lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Shields is looking for a sweep. Warren is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Warren is taking a breather. Shields says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Shields gets back to full guard.
Warren really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shields. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Warren is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Warren tries to stand but Shields is controlling from the bottom. Shields manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Warren manages to get himself to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Shields is looking to work some ground and pound but Warren has wrist control. Shields working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Shields connects with a couple of short punches. Shields makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Shields is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Warren is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Warren has escaped and now he's on top! Shields has his foot on Warren's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Warren works his way back into a safe position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jake Shields will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Warren throws a shot from downtown. Shields moves away and avoids it. A shot to the liver by Warren. Beautiful body shot. Warren has taken the fight to the clinch.
Shields is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Warren pulls him back up using the underhooks. Warren manages to break the clinch.
Warren darts in and clinches Shields up against the cage. Shields changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Warren fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Warren throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Shields shoots and misses and Warren connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Shields. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shields tries for a takedown but Warren circles away easily and Warren decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Shields's guard. Shields throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Shields working a defensive guard here.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Frank Warren was stalling too much, according to the referee. Shields takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Warren throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jake Shields seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shields shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Shields takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Shields misses with a takedown and Warren counters with a right hand to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Decent striking displayed by Warren there. Shields shoots and misses and Warren counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Shields! Shields sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Warren wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shields keeps working. Shields is looking for a sweep. Warren is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Shields trying to control from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Warren seems content to control. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Frank Warren was stalling too much, according to the referee. Shields with a poor takedown and Warren counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Shields tries for a takedown but Warren circles away easily and Warren decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Shields's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Warren wanted to stand there but Shields had control of the position. Warren slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Shields keeping moving, preventing Warren from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Warren showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Warren slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Shields wriggles free and stands up. Shields misses with a takedown attempt and Warren cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Shields tries for a takedown but Warren circles away easily and Warren counters with a three punch combo that has Shields backing up. Shields nods at Warren to acknowledge the strikes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Shields. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shields misses with a takedown attempt and Warren counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Warren lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Shields backwards. Warren breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Shields with a lazy takedown attempt and Warren counters with a nice double leg into side control. Shields won't be happy with that. Warren content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shields gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Shields slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shields thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Shields keeping full guard, as Warren tries to pass. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Shields keeping moving, preventing Warren from controlling successfully. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Frank Warren has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Shields misses with a takedown and Warren counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Shields's guard now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Warren looking to pass the guard. Warren takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Warren prevents Shields from getting back to his feet. Shields not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Jake Shields just wasn't active enough. Shields closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Warren's guard. Frank Warren has got the better of the ground game so far. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Shields in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
And that's the end of the fight! Frank Warren comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Warren has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
