Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mauri Kunnas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Piet Snot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kunnas's entrance music is Jumal x10 Lavis - Jeesus. A fine choice. Snot has chosen Lil Wayne - Drop the World as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Mauri Kunnas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Piet Snot!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kunnas tries to close the distance and clinch but Snot swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Piet Snot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kunnas misses with a right hand
and Snot counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Snot fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Kunnas checks it well.
Snot swings away with a body shot that misses
and Kunnas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Kunnas counters with a straight right hand.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Snot.
Snot ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Kunnas on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Snot fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

and Kunnas makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Snot counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kunnas won't be happy with that.
You can see the frustration on Kunnas's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kunnas dodges the ground and pound from Snot.

Snot is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kunnas knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Snot wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kunnas, who protects the arm well.

Kunnas tries to improve position but can't.
Snot looking to control but instead Kunnas has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Kunnas regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Snot.
Snot wants to control from the top but Kunnas keeps moving.

Snot is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kunnas is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kunnas has escaped and now he's on top!
Kunnas has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Snot had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kunnas defends it easily.
Kunnas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kunnas slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

enabling Kunnas to counter with a crisp jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Snot uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kunnas.

It looks like Piet Snot has been cut.

Snot throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kunnas was covering up waiting for the punch and Snot finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Snot might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kunnas kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Piet Snot was stalling too much, according to the referee.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kunnas fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Snot manages to avoid it.
Kunnas lands a leg kick that knocks Snot off balance momentarily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
