Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gary Richards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hugo Diaz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gary Richards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hugo Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richards just misses with a punch to the body.
Diaz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Richards's waist but Richards gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diaz off to one side.
Diaz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Richards is fending him off so far but Diaz persists. Nope, Richards circles away and we're back to standing.
Richards misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Diaz.

Richards is trying desperately to improve position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Richards wants to hold on but Diaz pushes him away.

Diaz stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Diaz misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Diaz tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Diaz has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Diaz is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Richards jumps into side control!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Richards paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Diaz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Diaz lands in his opponent's guard.

Richards wants to pass the guard but Diaz is keeping the position.
Diaz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Richards's guard.

Diaz is fighting to break Richards's control of his arms but Richards is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Diaz wants to pass the guard but Richards is keeping the position.
Diaz wanted to stand there but Richards had control of the position.
Diaz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Richards swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Diaz is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Richards is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Richards has escaped and now he's on top!

Richards has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Diaz is working away from the top position though.

Diaz is looking to pass to full mount but he's left his head exposed in the process. Richards has locked up a guillotine and regained full guard. He's really cranking on it - this could be the end! Is it? Is it? No... YES! YES! He's tapped! I didn't think he was going to get it there for a minute but he did! Well done Richards! He waited for his chance and took it!
