Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jose Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas comes to the cage accompanied by Bottles and Fists. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice jab there from Thomas.
Brooks is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Brooks shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Thomas defends it nicely.
Thomas uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Brooks.

Brooks swings for the body but Thomas moves out of range.
Thomas closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Brooks ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Brooks shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Brooks throws a lazy right hand but Thomas sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Brooks cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Jose Thomas has been cut.
Thomas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brooks paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Thomas misses with a looping left.
Nice takedown defense from Thomas. No joy for Brooks on that attempt.
Jose Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eddie Brooks.

and Brooks counters with a nice body shot.
Thomas is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Brooks shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Thomas pinned against the cage. Thomas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A decent looking cross lands there for Thomas.
Thomas moves into range and connects with a jab.
Thomas throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Thomas makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Brooks changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Thomas tries to avoid it but Brooks manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Thomas to the ground. Thomas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Brooks throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Thomas's corner calls for a 1-2. Thomas obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Brooks moves forwards but Thomas connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Thomas lands a glancing blow to the side of Brooks's head.

and Brooks counters with a shoot takedown. Thomas fights it but they end up in guard.
Thomas pulls Brooks in close to his closed guard and prevents Brooks from doing any damage or advancing position.
Brooks is looking to work some ground and pound but Thomas has wrist control.
Brooks wants to control from the top but Thomas keeps moving.

Brooks stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thomas swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Brooks stands and throws Thomas's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Brooks swings around for an armbar but Thomas sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Brooks's guard.
Brooks not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Thomas slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Brooks has his feet on Thomas's thighs here. He's pushed Thomas off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Thomas screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
