Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steve Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Daniel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Jenkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ryan Daniel!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Glass and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Jenkins throws an off balance right hand

and Daniel counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jenkins's guard now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Daniel controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Daniel wants to control from the top but Jenkins keeps moving.

Daniel decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jenkins, up you get!
Jenkins swings for the body but Daniel moves out of range.

Daniel shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Daniel has control of Jenkins's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Jenkins regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Daniel throwing strikes here but Jenkins is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Daniel looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Daniel can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jenkins is looking to escape.
Daniel is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Daniel is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Jenkins has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Jenkins!

Jenkins wants to get up but he can't break Daniel's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Jenkins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Daniel has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jenkins has managed to get both his arms back between Daniel's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Daniel has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jenkins can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Daniel is looking for a triangle but Jenkins pushes his legs off easily.

Jenkins avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jenkins wants to stand but Daniel has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Daniel looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jenkins wanted to stand there but Daniel had control of the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Daniel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jenkins as he avoids it easily.

Daniel fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jenkins to the ground. Daniel is now in Jenkins's guard.
Daniel wants to control from the top but Jenkins keeps moving.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ryan Daniel was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Daniel shoots in but Jenkins avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Steve Jenkins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Daniel.

Jenkins is trying to stand up here but Daniel is controlling him well.

Daniel is looking for a kimura but Jenkins is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Daniel to get the leverage.

Daniel is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jenkins doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Daniel.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Daniel is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Jenkins is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
