Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tom Half (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rua has chosen Usher-More Remix as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Half shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rua pinned against the cage. Rua gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Horrible takedown by Half or perhaps it was just good defense by Rua which made him look bad.
Half shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tom Half. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Half fails with a takedown attempt.

Half drives through with a takedown into guard.

Half drops back, looking for a kneebar! Rua looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rua looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rua!
Half is looking for a sweep.

Rua tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Half is looking to regain half guard here but Rua keeps moving and retains side control.
Half is trying to work for a sweep but Rua has mounted him!
Half tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Half sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Half is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rua pulls his head out easily.

Rua tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Half moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Tom Half will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Half shoots in looking for a takedown but Rua manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Half's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Half looking to score a takedown here. Rua is defending well but Half drives through and ends up in Rua's guard.

Half is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rua is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rua has escaped and now he's on top!

Half escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rua gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Half has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rua can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Rua really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Half. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Half has his foot on Rua's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rua works his way back into a safe position though.

Half looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Rua is defending well. Half quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Rua has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Half celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
