Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jeganathan Mondero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Juan Marcelo Flores!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flores keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Flores throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Mondero decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Flores's guard.
Mondero wants to pass the guard but Flores is keeping the position.
Mondero throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Flores works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Mondero trying to control the position from guard on top but Flores is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jeganathan Mondero just wasn't active enough.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Oooooh!!! Flores has knocked Mondero down with a huge combo! Flores steps away and waves a wobbly Mondero back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

and Mondero counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mondero slips a nice elbow through Flores's hands, connecting with Flores's forehead.

Flores pushes Mondero off looking to stand but Mondero dives back in and keeps control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mondero is looking to advance position but Flores won't allow it.
Mondero trying to control the action but Flores is working from the bottom.
Mondero winds up and cracks Flores with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Flores is looking to escape.
Flores won't allow Mondero to pass to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Mondero drops his hands momentarily and Flores takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
The fighters circling - Mondero throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

and Mondero counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Flores counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Mondero shoots in looking for a takedown. Flores tries to sprawl out of it but Mondero keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Flores manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Flores throws a right and a left that both miss.

and Mondero counters with a good low kick that Flores was not able to check.
Mondero shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Flores pinned against the cage. Flores gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeganathan Mondero. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A decent looking cross lands there for Mondero.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Mondero.

and Mondero counters with a three punch combo that has Flores backing up. Flores nods at Mondero to acknowledge the strikes.

Mondero jabs Flores to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Flores takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Mondero tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Flores was well out of range. Poor timing from Mondero.

and Mondero counters with a nice low kick that buckles Flores's knee momentarily.
