Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hb Pencil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Filipovich Petruhin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hb Pencil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Filipovich Petruhin!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Valeri Chadov and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pencil pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Petruhin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

and Pencil counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Petruhin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pencil.
Pencil cracks Petruhin with a solid left hand.
Pencil throws a big right hand that misses.
Pencil controls from within his opponent's guard.
Petruhin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Pencil sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Pencil is looking to improve his position.

Well, if Petruhin is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Petruhin frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Pencil tries to hold on but Petruhin pushes him away.
Pencil bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Petruhin is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Pencil wants to control from the top but Petruhin keeps moving.

Petruhin is looking to control Pencil's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Petruhin avoid being mounted?
Pencil is keen to just control but Petruhin is a slippery customer.
Pencil throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Pencil tries to pass the half guard into mount. Petruhin knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Pencil prevents Petruhin from improving his position.
Pencil passes to full mount!
Pencil sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Petruhin wants to hold on but Pencil pushes him away.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Petruhin is squirming around, avoiding Pencil's attempts to control the action.
Pencil misses with a head shot.
Pencil looking to control but Petruhin is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Pencil punishing his opponent with strikes.
Pencil controlling the pace for now.
Pencil trying to control but he's not successful this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hb Pencil dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Pencil decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Petruhin's guard.
Hb Pencil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Igor Filipovich Petruhin.
Pencil slips nicely into half guard.

Pencil is looking for a kimura but Petruhin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pencil to get the leverage.
Pencil seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Pencil looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Pencil is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Petruhin sees it coming and defends easily.
Pencil is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Pencil trying to control the position from guard on top but Petruhin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Petruhin is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pencil is aware though and is defending well.
Pencil missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Pencil tries to free his leg and advance position but Petruhin is retaining full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pencil is working Petruhin over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Petruhin looking for a sweep. Not yet Petruhin, not yet.
Petruhin wants to hit a switch here but Pencil passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Petruhin there!

Pencil is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Petruhin has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Petruhin!
Pencil controls Petruhin momentarily but Petruhin frees himself.

Petruhin is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pencil is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pencil has escaped and now he's on top!

Petruhin keeping moving, preventing Pencil from controlling successfully.
Pencil has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Petruhin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Pencil passes Petruhin's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Pencil is trying to control the action in half guard but Petruhin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pencil is looking to stall here but Petruhin recovers full guard.
Petruhin is trying to keep Pencil in close.
Pencil won't allow Petruhin to sweep him here.
Petruhin looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hb Pencil dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Pencil darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Pencil gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Petruhin counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Pencil is looking to control Petruhin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pencil avoid being mounted?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pencil regains full guard. Nicely done.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Igor Filipovich Petruhin was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Pencil throws a right and a left that Petruhin avoids nicely.
Pencil swings for the body but Petruhin moves out of range.

and Pencil counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Petruhin's guard now.

Petruhin wants to sweep but no luck.
Petruhin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Pencil trying to control but Petruhin is working from the bottom.
Hb Pencil overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Petruhin wants to hit a switch here but Pencil passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Petruhin there!
Hb Pencil is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Pencil looking to control but Petruhin is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Pencil is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Petruhin is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Well Pencil has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
