The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pa throws a low kick but Balagtas moves out of range easily.
Pa connects with an inside leg kick.
Balagtas misses with a straight left.
Pa steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Balagtas.
Pa fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Pa throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

It looks like Jose Balagtas has been cut.

Pa thows a body kick. Balagtas tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Balagtas is breathing heavily.
Pa lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Pa lands with a kick to the temple. Balagtas shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Jose Balagtas's cut is getting worse.
Balagtas chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Pa can pounce on him.
Pa lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Pa goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Jose Balagtas's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Balagtas steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Pa. That one must have hurt.
A slapping leg kick lands for Pa.
Pa throws a quick inside leg kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pa feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Balagtas's calf.
Pa plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Pa lands a big head kick that sends Balagtas tumbling to the mat! Pa takes a step backwards and waves Balagtas back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Jeez, Jose Balagtas's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jose Balagtas's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
