PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lebron James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Dirt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lebron James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tyler Dirt!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yuuki Gou and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James wants to clinch but Dirt slips to the side
letting Dirt counter with a right hand.
James is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Nice takedown defense from James. No joy for Dirt on that attempt.
Dirt swats away the attempt to clinch by James.
James really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dirt falls off balance throwing a combination

and James counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dirt's guard now.
James controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
James wants to stand but Dirt has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

That's one minute gone in the round.

James thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Dirt has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but James can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Dirt can't keep his opponent in guard - James advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Dirt wants to control but James is keeping busy.
James working the head and body with strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dirt on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
James will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
James looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Dirt trying to control from the bottom.
James not landing any meaningful shots this time.
James controlling the action here.
Dirt wants to improve his position but James is controlling well.
James looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dirt with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Dirt is trying to defend against the ground and pound but James scores with a couple of nice shots.

James decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Dirt looks gassed!
Dirt blocks a head kick by James.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

James has closed the distance and engaged Dirt in a clinch.

James's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
James throws out a loose jab but Dirt uses good head movement to avoid it.

James throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dirt was covering up waiting for the punch and James finishes the takedown easily into guard.
James is in close to Dirt's body, working some short punches and elbows.
James looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
James lands a couple of elbows.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dirt can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as James controls the pace.

Dirt looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
James is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Lebron James wasn't doing enough on the ground.
James misses with a takedown attempt - Dirt sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lebron James dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


James throws a head kick that misses.
James tries to clinch up but Dirt circles away and keeps his distance.
Dirt misses with a body shot

so James counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
James with a nice head shot there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
James postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

James gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
James shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dirt as he avoids it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
An inside leg kick from Dirt misses.

James scores with a takedown into Dirt's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
James keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dirt's head.

Dirt is working an open guard so James takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Dirt tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and James counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Lebron James overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dirt is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of James's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take James's back!

Dirt is looking for a choke. James gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. James manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
James lands a couple of decent looking shots.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
James scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

James drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dirt manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now James has Dirt in his guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Dirt avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Dirt wants to pass the guard but James is keeping the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dirt is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but James has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Dirt is looking to defend but James has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Dirt! James pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Dirt taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Lebron James!
