Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Takiki Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sam Takiki Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruce Kent!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takiki Jr fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Takiki Jr tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Kent is able to avoid easily.
Kent ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Takiki Jr moves away.
Takiki Jr slaps away a takedown attempt from Kent, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kent slips under a jab.
A low kick from Takiki Jr is predictable there
and Takiki Jr takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kent misses with a series of wild punches.
Takiki Jr throws a lazy uppercut

and Kent counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Takiki Jr's guard now.
Takiki Jr utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kent accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Takiki Jr is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kent throws and elbow that misses. Takiki Jr uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kent's guard. Nice move by Takiki Jr!
Kent bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Takiki Jr's guard.
Takiki Jr keeping moving, preventing Kent from controlling successfully.

Kent is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Takiki Jr utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Takiki Jr had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kent defends it easily.
Kent in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Takiki Jr escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kent gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kent has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Kent looking to sit in guard and control but Takiki Jr gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bruce Kent dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Kent scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Kent looks to land a right hand but Takiki Jr moved out of range.
Kent throws a shot from downtown. Takiki Jr moves away and avoids it.
Takiki Jr throws a leg kick but Kent checks it.
Kent throws a hook to the side of Takiki Jr's head but Takiki Jr sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Takiki Jr avoids a punch combination nicely.
Takiki Jr scores with a kick to the body.

Takiki Jr throws a solid leg kick but Kent takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Takiki Jr.
Kent misses with the combination.
Kent rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Takiki Jr moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Takiki Jr moves out of range as Kent strikes.
Takiki Jr fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kent manages to avoid it.
Takiki Jr leaves Kent with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kent avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kent throws a poor cross that misses
and Takiki Jr counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Kent is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Kent is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Takiki Jr moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Bruce Kent has been cut.
Takiki Jr throws a leg kick that misses.
Nice uppercut lands for Kent. That snapped Takiki Jr's head back.
Kent throws out a loose jab but Takiki Jr uses good head movement to avoid it.

Takiki Jr throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Kent throws an overhand right that lands on Takiki Jr's shoulder, as Takiki Jr tries to avoid the shot.
Kent throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Kent throws a looping overhand right but Takiki Jr ducks down to avoid it.
Kent lands with a cross.


It looks like Sam Takiki Jr has been cut.
Bruce Kent seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Kent blocks a head kick by Takiki Jr.
Kent throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Takiki Jr keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kent might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Takiki Jr dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kent. That did some damage!

Sam Takiki Jr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce Kent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bruce Kent showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Takiki Jr thows a body kick. Kent tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Kent takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Takiki Jr fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kent has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Takiki Jr displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kent.
Takiki Jr throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Takiki Jr fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Kent is out of range.
Kent takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Takiki Jr misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kent takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Kent's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Kent shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Takiki Jr throws a leg kick that misses.
Kent falls off balance throwing a combination
letting Takiki Jr counter with a right hand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sam Takiki Jr showed his dominance in that final round.
