Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Piotr Rasputin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valentijn Overmin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Overmin is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Swedish house mafia: Miami 2 Ibiza. Valentijn Overmin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Piotr Rasputin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Valentijn Overmin!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rasputin tries for a takedown but Overmin circles away easily
and Overmin counters with a nice uppercut.
Rasputin tries to clinch but Overmin moves out of range.

Overmin throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rasputin was covering up waiting for the punch and Overmin finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Rasputin is adopting a defensive guard.
Rasputin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Rasputin is working an open guard so Overmin takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Overmin tries to sprawl but Rasputin drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rasputin is trying to work for a kimura but Overmin is defending well.
Overmin tries to kick Rasputin off but Rasputin keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Overmin kicks Rasputin off and gets back to his feet.
Rasputin checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Overmin scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Overmin decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Overmin misses with a leg kick
and Rasputin counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Overmin thinking.
Rasputin throws a head kick that misses.
Rasputin is breathing heavily.
Rasputin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Overmin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rasputin sprawls well initially but Overmin persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Overmin is looking for a kimura here.
Overmin wants to pass to mount but Rasputin is defending the position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rasputin is not content to let Overmin control the position.
Rasputin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Overmin on the ground.

Overmin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rasputin defends it well.

Overmin is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Rasputin wants to get back to his feet.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Overmin is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Rasputin is defending against the submission attempts here by Overmin.

Overmin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rasputin is just riding it out for now. Overmin eventually gives up the hold.

Overmin stands up out of the half guard.
Overmin fails with a takedown attempt.
Rasputin has his takedown stuffed

and Overmin counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Overmin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rasputin sees it coming and defends easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Overmin is trying to control the action in half guard but Rasputin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Valentijn Overmin dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Overmin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rasputin circles away.
Overmin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Rasputin counters with a body kick that stops Overmin in his tracks momentarily.
Rasputin is looking to clinch but Overmin is avoiding it.

Overmin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Rasputin keeping control of the position.

Rasputin has one foot on Overmin's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Overmin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rasputin is trying to defend but Overmin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Overmin. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Rasputin pushes Overmin off and gets back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rasputin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Overmin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Rasputin tries to stand but Overmin is controlling from the bottom.

Overmin pushes Rasputin off and gets back to his feet.

Overmin closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rasputin quickly recovers to half guard.

Overmin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Rasputin wants to get back to full guard.

Overmin slows the pace down in half guard.
Rasputin tries to roll over but Overmin keeps him under control.
Overmin controlling the action here.
Valentijn Overmin has got the better of the ground game so far.
Rasputin is staying active underneath Overmin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Rasputin is defending against the submission attempts here by Overmin.
Overmin looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Overmin seems to be working for a kimura but Rasputin defends the submission attempt.

Overmin landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Overmin thows a huge punch but Rasputin dodges it nicely.
Overmin is nestled in close to Rasputin, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Valentijn Overmin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Overmin in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Rasputin tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Overmin!
