Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Karl Mathers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mac Avelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mathers comes into the arena with Buck cherry blaring out of the sound system. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mathers with a poor takedown
letting Avelli counter with a right hand.
Mathers wants to clinch
and Avelli counters with a slapping leg kick.
Mathers misses with a hook to the body

and Avelli decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mathers's guard.

Mathers is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Avelli defends well.
Mathers wants to sweep here but Avelli controlling him for the moment.

Avelli stands up from Mathers's guard - Avelli perhaps looking for a knockout.
Mathers misses with a takedown attempt
and Avelli counters with a series of strikes. Mathers will be more careful next time no doubt.

Mathers shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Mathers jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Avelli is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Avelli and Mathers has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Avelli is trying to control Mathers's posture but Mathers avoids it.

Avelli is looking for a sweep.
Avelli parries the strikes from Mathers easily there. Mathers is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Avelli to escape.
Avelli is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Mathers asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Avelli is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Mathers has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Avelli is looking to defend but Mathers has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Avelli! Mathers pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Avelli taps out and this one is all over!
