Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Herp Derp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zz Top (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Derp's entrance music is Sick of You. A fine choice. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Derp tries to clinch but Top moves away

and Top counters with a nice double leg into side control. Derp won't be happy with that.
Top working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Top is looking to take a break and control but Derp is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Top tries for a kimura but Derp is defending well.
Derp tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Top wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Derp is not content to let Top control the position.
Top is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Derp will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Derp regains half guard, as Top was trying to land strikes.

Derp is defending against the submission attempts here by Top.
Derp trying to hold on to Top's head to control him but Top postures up.

Top is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Derp moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Derp not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Top has gone for a leg lock! Derp slips out almost immediately though and dives into Top's guard.
Top utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Top is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Zz Top was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Top shoots and misses

and Derp counters with a shoot takedown. Top fights it but they end up in guard.
Derp trying to control but Top is working from the bottom.
Top has his hands on Derp's head, controlling the position.

Top is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Derp really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Derp stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Top swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Derp drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Top manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Derp has Top in his guard.
Top's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Top looking to sit in guard and control but Derp gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Derp throwing strikes but missing.
Top looking to control.
Top pulls Derp in close to prevent any damage.
Derp won't allow Top to sweep him here.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Top wants to control the position but Derp says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Top is controlling Derp's trapped leg to prevent Derp from advancing to side control.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Top gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Derp counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Derp wants to lay and pray for a moment but Top keeps working.
Derp scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Top is trying to maintain the position but Derp is very close to passing his half guard.
Derp will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Top is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Derp is thwarting Top's attempts to control the position.

Derp is looking for a kimura but Top is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Derp to get the leverage.
Derp seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Top does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Top is looking to control Derp's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Top avoid being mounted?
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Top can do anything to dispel that myth.

Top might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Derp kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Zz Top.

Top decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Derp trying to control but Top postures up.
Top wants to control but Derp is keeping him busy.
Top thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Derp's head.

Top is breathing heavily.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Top in particular looking to stall.
Derp works his way to full guard. Good work.

Top is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Top drops back, looking for a kneebar! Derp looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Derp looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Derp!

Top thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Top working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Derp is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Top has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Derp taps out!
