The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salvador darts in trying to clinch
and Machado counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Salvador throws a combination that misses
and Machado counters with a straight right hand.
Salvador pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Machado stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Machado wants it to stay on the feet.
Salvador displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Machado throws out the jab.

Salvador feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Machado is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Salvador frees his head nicely. Oh but Machado has switched to an armbar! Salvador is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
