Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dean Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bill Compton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Compton is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Granville Bowlin - Wild Bill Jones. Dean Stevens has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Dean Stevens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bill Compton!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Compton.
Stevens misses with a takedown
and Stevens takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Stevens avoids a punch combination nicely.

Stevens clinches up with Compton and pushes him back against the cage.
Compton tries a knee to the head but Stevens blocks it.

A short body shot lands from Stevens as the two fighters clinch.

Compton tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stevens swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Stevens throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Compton is not content to let Stevens control the position.

Compton is refusing to be controlled, as Stevens sits in half guard.
Stevens has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Stevens thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Compton's head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Compton bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stevens's guard.

Compton is fighting to break Stevens's control of his arms but Stevens is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Stevens's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Stevens manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Compton manages to get himself to full guard.
Stevens is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Compton is trying to keep Stevens in close.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Compton swings for the body but Stevens moves out of range.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Compton shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Stevens eats them both and turns towards Compton to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Stevens shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Compton sprawls well. Compton wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Stevens gets slowly back to his feet.
Compton swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bill Compton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dean Stevens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Compton fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Stevens, pushing him back against the cage.
Compton pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Stevens tries to land knees in the clinch but Compton avoids the damage to the body.
Still in the clinch, Compton scores with a nice short uppercut.

I would just about give that final round to Bill Compton.
I think Stevens has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
