Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 1, fighting out of London, Mitch Layden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, James Katana!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Paul Tew and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Katana throws a hook but Layden blocks it.
Layden pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Decent striking displayed by Katana there.
Layden tries to clinch up.
Layden loads up on a big right hand but Katana slips the punch.
Layden takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Katana tries to bum rush Layden with a series of wild strikes but Layden uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Layden looks for the body kick but Katana saw that one coming.
Layden uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Katana.
Katana swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

and Katana cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Katana throws a hook but Layden avoids it easily.
Layden throws a body punch but Katana moves out of range.
Katana throws a big shot that misses.
Katana tries a head kick but it misses.
Layden misses with a body shot.
Layden changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Katana tries to avoid it but Layden manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Katana to the ground. Katana escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Katana pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Layden misses with the combination.
Layden changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Katana tries to avoid it but Layden manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Katana to the ground. Katana escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mitch Layden. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Katana throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Layden on the side of the head.

Layden tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Katana swivels and escapes.

Layden tries to close the distance and clinch but Katana swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Layden is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Katana manages to escape and get back to his feet!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

James Katana comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Katana has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
