Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and BJ Walters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, BJ Walters!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Walters clinches with his opponent.

Walters wants the takedown. Williams is fighting it off but Walters persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Williams's guard against the cage.
Williams not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Walters thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Williams drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Walters dives on top into guard.

Walters slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. BJ Walters hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Williams misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

That was a close round but I would say that David Williams will probably get the nod.

Williams lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Walters circles away quickly and effectively.

Williams misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Williams in particular looking to stall.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Walters closes the distance and clinches up with Williams, looking for a takedown. Walters pushes Williams against the cage but Williams circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
