Kelly comes to the cage accompanied by Pink Floyd with Van Morrison - Comfortably Numb. McClusky has chosen I Stand Alone as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Columbo Gatti and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McClusky misses with a body shot

and Kelly counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Kelly wants to control from the top but McClusky keeps moving.

McClusky really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kelly. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kelly passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for McClusky!

Kelly throws a strike but McClusky avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McClusky can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kelly postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have McClusky in real trouble here! The ref calls for McClusky to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gerry Kelly!
