Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Derrick Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thaigo Leites (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Coleman kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Superstar by Lupe Fiasco. Leites has chosen Sunday Bloody Sunday - U2 as his entrance music. Thaigo Leites acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thaigo Leites!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coleman throws a series of punches but Leites avoids them all with ease.
Leites shoots in and drives through. Coleman sprawls well.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Leites.

Leites drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Leites looking to pass the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leites stops Coleman from standing up.
Leites working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Coleman pushes Leites off and gets back to his feet.
Coleman stuffs the takedown attempt from Leites. Leites gets slowly back to his feet.

Leites drops back, looking for a kneebar! Coleman looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Coleman looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Coleman!

Coleman has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Leites closes the distance and clinches up with Coleman, looking for a takedown. Leites pushes Coleman against the cage but Coleman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Leites tries for a takedown but Coleman sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Leites darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Leites is working for a kimura but Coleman is defending it quite comfortably.
Coleman won't allow Leites to pass to mount.

Coleman wants to get back to his feet.
Leites is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Coleman wants to get back to his feet but Leites is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Coleman pushes Leites off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Coleman misses with a straight right.
Leites shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Coleman as he jumps to the side.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Coleman somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!

Coleman is looking to clinch but Leites is avoiding it.
Coleman moves in looking to clinch but Leites pushes him off.
Coleman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Leites shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Leites showed some decent athleticism there.
Leites uses his free foot to push down on Coleman's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Coleman.

Leites jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Coleman is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Coleman and Leites has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Leites is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Coleman is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fight stays on the outside here - Coleman looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Leites is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Coleman doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Leites.

Leites has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Coleman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Coleman decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Leites shoots in but no luck this time.

Nice takedown defense from Coleman. No joy for Leites on that attempt.
Horrible takedown by Leites or perhaps it was just good defense by Coleman which made him look bad.

Thaigo Leites comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Leites winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
