PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Diego Elvis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abel Stamp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Elvis comes to the cage accompanied by Elvis Presley - In The Ghetto. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Diego Elvis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Abel Stamp!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksandr Martynov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elvis looks to land a right hand but Stamp moved out of range.
Stamp misses with a double jab

and Elvis counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Stamp wants to get back to full guard but Elvis has mounted him!
Elvis sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Elvis wants to control the pace but Stamp is squirming around nicely.
Stamp holds on, trying desperately to control.
Stamp is in all sorts of trouble here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stamp slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Elvis throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Elvis winds up and cracks Stamp with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Stamp makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Stamp.
Stamp is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Elvis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Stamp wants to sweep but no luck.

Elvis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Stamp keeping moving, preventing Elvis from controlling successfully.
Elvis postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Stamp is trying to keep Elvis in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Elvis postures up in Stamp's guard and throws a big left but Stamp blocks it.

Stamp wants to stand and escape but Elvis is having none of it.
Stamp is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Stamp keeping moving, preventing Elvis from controlling successfully.

Elvis lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Stamp is trying to keep Elvis in close.
Elvis lands a couple of elbows.
Elvis won't allow Stamp to get back to his feet.
Elvis throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Elvis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stamp has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Elvis has managed to get both his arms back between Stamp's legs - danger averted.

Stamp is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

and Elvis counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Stamp looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Elvis has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Stamp is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Elvis misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Elvis keeps control of Stamp as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
A frustrated look appears on Stamp's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Stamp wants to break the clinch but can't.
Elvis tries to throw a body punch but Stamp avoids it by throwing Elvis back against the cage.

Stamp wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Stamp manages to break the clinch.
Elvis on the wrong end of a nice hook.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Stamp showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Elvis.
Stamp will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Elvis counters with a takedown into side control.

Diego Elvis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Stamp is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Elvis's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Elvis's back!
Stamp controlling the position well here. Elvis rolled but Stamp kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Stamp is landing with strikes. Elvis can't take much more of this.

Stamp slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Stamp looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Elvis is defending well. Stamp quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Elvis has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Stamp celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
