The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Valeri Chadov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zhelyabov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Andrei Zhelyabov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice leg kick lands there from Zhelyabov.
Zhelyabov throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Cope.

and Cope counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Cope looking to score a takedown here. Zhelyabov is defending well but Cope drives through and ends up in Zhelyabov's guard.

Zhelyabov wants to get back to his feet but Cope is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Cope stands up over Zhelyabov, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Zhelyabov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cope. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cope is pushing down on Zhelyabov's leg trying to pass to half guard. Zhelyabov is fighting to maintain full guard but Cope has managed to sneak the leg through.

Cope thows a huge punch but Zhelyabov dodges it nicely.

Zhelyabov is trying to stand up here but Cope is controlling him well.
Cope thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Zhelyabov's head.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Zhelyabov can do anything to dispel that myth.

Cope has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Zhelyabov defend it? Cope steps over the head and cranks it - Zhelyabov is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Cope!
