Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, PIotrek Piter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cain Smith!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Piter throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Smith tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Piter is in Smith's guard.
Smith should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Smith trying to control the position.
Piter works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Piter is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Piter is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Piter prevents Smith from improving his position.
Piter seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Piter stands up out of the half guard.
Smith misses with a takedown attempt

and Piter counters with a shoot takedown. Smith fights it but they end up in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Piter is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Smith bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Piter's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Piter wants to sweep here but Smith controlling him for the moment.

so Piter counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Piter stands up from Smith's guard - Piter perhaps looking for a knockout.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Smith has his takedown stuffed

and Piter decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Smith's guard.
PIotrek Piter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cain Smith.
Smith looks gassed!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Piter tries to free his leg and advance position but Smith is retaining full guard.
Piter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Smith works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Piter wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.

and Piter counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Piter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working.
Piter frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Smith is squirming around, avoiding Piter's attempts to control the action.
PIotrek Piter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Piter controlling his opponent.
Piter breaks from Smith's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Smith is looking to get to half guard.

Piter jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Smith manages to avoid the submission attempt.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Smith wants to control but Piter postures up.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smith can do anything to dispel that myth.
Smith is not content to let Piter control the position.
Smith tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Smith is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The referee warns Smith that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Piter is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Smith is surviving well by controlling Piter's body position as best he can.
Piter is stalling here but it's allowed Smith to get half guard.
Piter thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Piter prevents Smith from standing back up.
Piter tries to pass the half guard into mount. Smith knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Piter controlling the action here.
Piter has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Piter wants to take a breather but Smith is having none of it.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Piter is taking a breather. Smith says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Smith has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Piter is working away from the top position though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of PIotrek Piter.
Piter shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Piter shoots in and bounces Smith off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Smith wants to sweep but no luck.

Piter gets to his feet. Smith looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Smith takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

and Piter counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Piter postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Smith to stand up.

and Piter counters with a single leg into guard. Smith didn't expect that.
PIotrek Piter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cain Smith.

Piter stands up and waves to Smith to follow him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Piter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Piter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Smith is trying to control Piter's posture but Piter avoids it.

The strikes coming from Piter are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Smith is not content to let Piter control the position.
Smith trying his best to control but Piter has mounted him.
Piter scoring with strikes but Smith is staying in there.
Smith tries to lock up and control but Piter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Piter lands a big shot there that rocks Smith but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Piter lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Piter goes for an armbar but Smith turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Smith.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Piter is retaining full guard.
Cain Smith has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
PIotrek Piter is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
