Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, DrewB Down!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Alonso misses.
JW Alonso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alonso wants to clinch

and Down counters with a nice double leg into side control. Alonso won't be happy with that.
Alonso is not content to let Down control the position.
A lull in the action here.
Down tries to advance position but instead Alonso slips a leg back in to half guard.

Alonso wants to sweep but Down has passed to side control!
Alonso tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Alonso is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Down off and has taken his back!
Alonso is trying to stick to Down's back but Down is turning into Alonso. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Alonso's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Down.

Down works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Alonso is trying to stand.
Down looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Alonso is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Down wants to free his trapped foot but Alonso is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Alonso has his hands clasped together around Down's back. He's all about the action.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The ref stands the fighters back up. JW Alonso wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Alonso cracks Down with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Alonso has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Down to stand back up!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that JW Alonso will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Down misses with a right hand
and Alonso scores with a counter punch that sends Down to the canvas! Alonso smells blood - he's punishing Down with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Down has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). JW Alonso!
