Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paul Huntter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jose Pettis will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul Huntter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jose Pettis!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huntter is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pettis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Huntter takes one on the button.
Huntter walks into a left hand.
Pettis wants to clinch.
Pettis fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.


It looks like Paul Huntter has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Huntter ducks straight into an uppercut from Pettis and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Huntter manages to regain guard straight away.
Pettis would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Pettis decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Pettis sizes up Huntter with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Pettis lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Huntter shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Huntter showed some decent athleticism there.

Pettis tries to roll over but Huntter keeps him under control.
Huntter seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Pettis is trying to stand up here but Huntter is controlling him well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pettis tries to bum rush Huntter with a series of wild strikes but Huntter uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jose Pettis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Huntter.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Pettis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Huntter.

and Huntter decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pettis's guard.

Huntter seems a little lost for a moment, as Pettis dominates the positioning.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Paul Huntter.
