PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacory Luck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Syrelius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Syrelius has chosen Saturday Nights Alright For Fighting as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Syrelius moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Luck throws a right hand that misses
and Syrelius counters with a two punch combo.
Syrelius throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Luck counters with a stiff right hand.

Syrelius looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Luck pushes Syrelius off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Luck lands a nice hook to Syrelius's body. Syrelius takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Syrelius throws a left and a right that both miss
and Luck cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Luck misses with a jab, cross combination.
Luck bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Syrelius's head.
Syrelius gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Syrelius defending well as Luck loads up on a big left hand.

Syrelius gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Syrelius blocks an elbow strike.
Luck is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Syrelius tries to score a body lock takedown but Luck shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Still in the clinch, Luck scores with a nice short uppercut.
Syrelius doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Luck lands with a short shot to the head.
Luck content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Syrelius is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Luck lands a shoulder strike.
A bit of stalling here from Luck.
Luck working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Syrelius.
Nice body punch from Luck - that landed with a thud.
Syrelius tries for a takedown but Luck manages to get underhooks.
Jacory Luck has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carl Syrelius.
Syrelius looks gassed!
Luck is pushing Syrelius up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Syrelius looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Stalling in the clinch from Luck.
Luck seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Jacory Luck.
Luck fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Syrelius looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Syrelius misses with a takedown attempt
and Luck counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Luck bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Syrelius's head backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Luck with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Luck lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Syrelius goes down and covers up as Luck starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
