PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Quick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Allan Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harris has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mike Quick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Allan Harris!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Quick drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Harris looks gassed!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Quick's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Quick drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Quick jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Quick scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Quick gets to his feet - Harris follows without any prompting.
Quick changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Harris tries to avoid it but Quick manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Harris to the ground. Harris escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Quick closes the distance and clinches.

Quick decides to pull guard.
Quick tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Quick preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Quick pushes Harris off and gets back to his feet.

Quick rushes Harris and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Quick tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Harris manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Harris keeping moving, preventing Quick from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Quick passes into half guard.

Quick decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Quick closes the distance and clinches.
Harris tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Harris is trying to stall.
Harris landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Harris breaks the clinch.
Harris tries to clinch but Quick moves away

and Quick counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Quick stands up and beckons Harris to join him on the feet.
Quick looks to clinch

and Harris counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Harris is working for takedown but Quick is calmly controlling the position for now.

Quick breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Quick clinches but Harris breaks the clinch
and Harris counters with a two punch combo.

and Quick counters by clinching up.
Mike Quick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Allan Harris.
Quick drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Harris has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Quick avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Harris tries to stall but Quick uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Quick lands a nice knee to the body.
Harris drops down looking for an ankle pick but Quick pulls his leg out and moves away.
Quick wants to clinch

and Harris counters with a single leg into guard. Quick didn't expect that.
Harris being controlled here momentarily.
Harris tries to free his leg and advance position but Quick is retaining full guard.
Quick is looking to stand up but Harris isn't so interested in that idea.

Quick is looking to sinch up a triangle. Harris throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Quick's body to avoid the submission. Quick has instead reached around Harris's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Quick arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
